“This painting is a study in soft, moody pastels and, for me, possibly the most enjoyable painting of the year so far. As I was looking so closely at the egg box I looked up its history and found out that the design we know so well, made from pressed paper pulp, came about in 1931. It’s still doing a difficult job very well!”

The Box of Eggs, painted directly onto the Farrow and Ball paint swatch for Sulking Room Pink, is an original miniature painting by Rachel Spelling. The painting is 2cm x 3cm and it is served on a strip of twelve beautiful colours from the iconic Farrow & Ball colour card, which measures 7.4cm x 21cm. It is sold unframed.

This miniature is signed and dated on the back and it will be accompanied by a signed and embossed certificate of authenticity.
