‘Sometimes I start a painting by thinking about which two colours I would like to test out together. Here I was curious to test out a soft, peachy orange against a soft green blue, so it seemed to make sense to try this by painting the softest of sleeping cats. It turns out that the result is deeply restful!’

The Sleeping Cat, painted directly onto the Farrow and Ball paint swatch for Dix Blue, is an original miniature painting by Rachel Spelling. The painting is 2cm x 3cm and it is served on a strip of twelve beautiful colours from the iconic Farrow & Ball colour card, which measures 7.4cm x 21cm. It is sold unframed.

This miniature is signed and dated on the back and it will be accompanied by a signed and embossed certificate of authenticity.
